Forward Motion in Man Is a Dangerous Creature

In Man Is a Dangerous Creature Adams uses rhetoric of forward motion to bring John at ease about her life. She uses an anaphora "Tis a fortnight to Night" to address a long time between letters. She then eases John's concerns with an explanation for the long break. She later references the time spent away from John and then justifies the spending with this: I hope the publik will reap what sacrifice." With every letter she tries to ease John's concerns, so with each one she shows that she is getting by each day/week/month.
